Description
Copal is a tree resin that physically sits between two states—it is neither a hardened resin nor sap. Our Copal is sourced from family land in Oaxaca Mexico. It’s considered a medicinal tree to the Maya and Aztec. These medicinal trees are traditionally used for clearing the body of diseases and also to repel mosquitos.
Since ancient times, Copal incense and resin has been considered sacred to the people of Mexico, as well as South and Central America. It goes as far back to the Mayan and Aztec cultures. Mass amounts of copal resin were burned atop the Aztec and Mayan pyramids as offerings to the gods and deities. In the Mayan ruins, copal was discovered in the burial grounds, proving its spiritual significance.
Keep from heat or direct sunlight. (Resin may melt) Best Burned over hot charcoal, A little goes a long way, once your charcoal is hot sprinkle some resin over it and allow it to diffuse the aromatic smoke.
